Location:  Agra

Balkeshwar Park is envisioned as a living cultural landscape—an architectural response to the spiritual, historical, and literary significance of the Balkeshwar precinct in Agra. The proposal reimagines an underutilized urban open space as a place of pause, memory, and collective reflection, where culture is not showcased as an object, but experienced through movement, space, and atmosphere.

The architectural language is intentionally restrained and timeless. A clear axial framework, calm water bodies, and shaded pedestrian pathways guide visitors through a sequence of contemplative spaces, echoing the layered narratives of the site and its cultural context. Earthy materials and subtle textures allow the landscape to take precedence, with architecture acting as a quiet frame for human experience.

More than a park, Balkeshwar Park is conceived as a cultural commons for Agra—where architecture becomes a medium for preserving intangible heritage, encouraging dialogue, and reconnecting the city with its historical and spiritual roots through meaningful public space.
